HOW TO GET RID OF THAT STUBBORN FAT WITH LIPOSUCTION PROCEDURE?

Liposuction has become one of the most performed surgeries these days and many of you guys might want to look into this procedure as well. So, today NANA will give in depth information about liposuction as well as before and after procedure preparations, possible side effects and more.

⭐️WHAT IS LIPOSUCTION?

Liposuction is a surgical procedure that uses a suction technique to remove fat from specific areas of the body that haven't responded to diet and exercise. We usually call them "stubborn fat" These areas include:
  • abdomen (+ lovehandle)
  • back
  • thighs (360 degrees)
  • arms (360 degrees)
  • buttocks
  • accessory breasts
  • facial liposuction (to remove facial fat and achieve slimmer face line)
When you gain weight, fat cells increase in size and volume. In turn, liposuction reduces the number of fat cells in a specific area. The amount of fat removed depends on the appearance of the area and the volume of fat. The resulting contour changes are generally permanent — as long as you don't gain weight drastically at once.

⭐️WHAT TECHNIQUE DO WE USE AT NANA HOSPITAL?

At NANA Plastic Surgery Hospital, our doctors use the Tumescent Fluid Liposuction Technique. Tumescent Fluid is a solution containing local anesthetic and epinephrine which is injected into the targeted areas of excessive fatty deposits. The solution fills up the fatty layer and causes it to swell and become firmer which allows the sucking out fat much better controlled. The solution also causes the blood vessels to temporarily shrink, making the whole procedure very light on bleeding. This technique is a much safer way than other techniques as well as faster with less bleeding.

After the Tumescent Fluid solution is injected, the surgeon makes a small incision in the skin and inserts a cannula through the incision area. Using back and forth movements, the fat is sucked through the skinny tube (cannula).

⭐️HOW TO RECOVER WELL AFTER LIPOSUCTION SURGERY?

1. Compression Garments

Right after the surgery, compression garment is worn to help the skin contract and heal faster. It also helps reducing the swelling so it's recommended to wear the compression garment for a few weeks post-op.

Especially for the 1st month post-op, compression garment must be kept on for 24 hours
If the patient fails to apply pressure to help the process of tightening the empty space between muscle and skin after the liposuction, skin might end up looking lumpy. So compression garment is very important to wear.

2. Swelling and Bruises

Minor to major swelling and bruises appear after the procedure and they gradually fade away during the course of over three months. For complete de-swelling and final shape of the body, patient needs to wait up to 6 months.

To help with faster de-swelling, it's recommended to take light walks and drinking pumpkin juice helps as well.

NANA Hospital provides RF (Radio Frequency) Rolling Treatment for our patients post-op to help with faster recovery as well.

⭐️WHAT TO CONSIDER BEFORE LIPOSUCTION?

👉After liposuction, the skin molds itself to the new contours of the treated areas. If you have good skin tone and elasticity, the skin is likely to appear smooth. If your skin is thin with poor elasticity, however, the skin in the liposuctioned areas may appear loose.

👉Therefore, please note that liposuction doesn't treat problems such as cellulite, dimpling or other skin surface irregularities such as stretch marks.
