Bukchon Hanok Village is home to hundreds of traditional Korean houses, called "hanok", that date back to the Joseon Dynasty. The name Bukchon, which literally translates to "northern village," came about as the neighborhood lies north of two significant Seoul landmarks, Cheonggyecheon Stream and Jongno. Today, many of these hanoks operate as cultural centers, guesthouses, restaurants and tea houses, providing visitors with an opportunity to experience, learn and immerse themselves in traditional Korean culture. As Bukchon Hanok Village is an actual neighborhood with people's homes, visitors are advised to be respectful at all times while looking around. You can walk around the area while taking cool shots.
🔹STARFIELD COEX LIBRARY🔹
Located in the middle of COEX Central Plaza, Starfield Library offers visitors a perfect reading space. The two-story library has 13-meter-tall bookshelves which became one of the hottest attractions for visitors. With more than 50,000 books ranging from literature to hobbies as well as over 400 types of magazines, visitors can enjoy reading interesting books in the middle of a shopping center.
The Gyeongui railway line dates back roughly 100 years and now where the Gyeongui Line Forest Park sits. The park has since become a popular green space and walking area for citizens. Fittingly for a space designed for public use, the park is very accessible, and has great facilities and multipurpose areas. It’s a unique place where Seoulites and tourists alike can enjoy urban culture and greenery at the same time. Walking through the park is a wonderful way to experience Seoul history, and you can visit some fun, trendy neighborhoods like Hongdae and Yeonnam-dong, which are located right along the park. Yeontral Park has also become a famous spot for many K-drama scenes.
🔹TTUKSEOM HANGANG PARK🔹
Ttukseom Hangang Park offers a beautiful view of the Han River. There is plenty of space to spread out and have a picnic while admiring the Seoul city view. Especially during Spring, you can be one of the hundreds of people who come to the park to have a picnic with friends and family. Nearby convenient stores have all types of delicious eateries such as fried chicken and beer. It's a place where you can feel the nature in the middle of the city. Also, from Ttukseom park, you can see the Lotte Tower and Namsan Tower on both sides. It's quite the scenery and great for taking pictures! 👍
🔹CHEONGGYECHEON STREAM/PLAZA🔹
Cheonggyecheon is an 11 km-long modern stream that runs through downtown Seoul. Created as part of an urban renewal project, Cheonggyecheon is a restoration of the stream that was once there before during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). The stream starts from Cheonggye Plaza, a popular cultural arts venue, and passes under a total of 22 bridges before flowing into the Hangang River, with many attractions along the way. There are also some small light shows on the stream if you visit in the evening.
