ALL YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT RHINOPLASTY | NOSE JOB IN KOREA PATIENT REVIEW

 Happy June, everyonešŸŒ¼

One of the most common questions we get form patients before going into plastic surgery is the āœ”ļøPOST-OP RECOVERY PROCESS. So NANA has prepared a detailed information on what to do and how to take care after getting surgery.

This time, we start with RHINOPLASTYšŸ‘ƒ

One of our latest patients, Enkhangar came to NANA Hospital to get a consultation for rhinoplasty and he decided to get a surgery after consulting with the doctor.

He broke his nose once while playing when he was a young kid and that's why his nose bridge is a bit deviated now with some troubles breathing fully through his nostrils. His main purpose is to get his nasal bone deviation fixed.

He consulted with Dr. Kim Ilhwan who has 30+ years of experience in the plastic surgery field.

Enkhangar's Post-op Expectations šŸ‘‡

āœ£Fixing the deviated nasal bone

āœ£ Removing big hump on his bridge

āœ£ Straight nose

After completing the consultation + designing with the doctor, he finished all necessary medical examinations in NANA Medical Check-Up Center.

AND OFF HE WENT TO THE SURGERY~!šŸ¤©

Surgery was bout 3 hrs and he was moved to a recovery room where he rested for about an hour before heading home.

After surgery, patient will have a nose splint and bandage as following:

After rhinoplasty surgery, patient should come back to the hospital as following:

āœ”ļø 2 Days Post-op: remove merocel (cotton blockage) inside the nose

āœ”ļø 7 Days Post-op: remove outer stitches and nose splint

āœ”ļø 14 Days Post-op: remove ear (in case of using ear cartilage) stitches

ā—ļø ā• Please note that for the first 7 days until removing the stitches and nose splint, patient shouldn't wash face or touch water on the incision area to prevent any inflammationā—ļø ā•

FOR THE FIRST 7 DAYS AFTER SURGERY, DOšŸ‘‡

ā•ļøFor the first 3 days, do ICE massage (on cheeks, not directly on nose) to prevent more swelling

ā•ļøFrom 4th day, WARM massage for swelling and bruise to dissolve.

ā•ļøSitting up or taking a light walk helps better than lying down for de-swelling.

FOR THE FIRST MONTH AFTER SURGERY, DON'TšŸ‘‡

āŒDonā€™t blow your nose hard for one month, and blow gently only after one month. Be gentle and careful when sneezing, etc and avoid touching your nose with force!

āŒNo sauna or hot bath, no hard exercise (no frowning face), no glasses or sunglasses, drinking alcohol or smoking for one month to avoid infection.

āŒDissolvable dressing in the nose will naturally fall out within 6 weeksā€™ time so please do not pull it out by force.

And, now let's take a look at his recover process!

It's been only 7 days since he got the surgery so he still has a lot of swelling.

Major swelling can go up to a month and minor swelling to 3~4 months.

NANA will update you with his 1 month, 2 months and 3 months post-op pictures so please stay tunedšŸ„³
