Double Eyelid Surgery: Beginner's Guide

 Hi everyone!

NANA is back again and today we'll be looking at the different ways you can achieve a double eyelid. Here at NANA, we have many methods that cater to your eye shape and condition. Shall we take a look at a few methods?

Natural Non-Incision Method

This method of double eyelid surgery makes 5~7 small needle holes throughout your eyelids to pull off soft tissue. The needle holes will be used as a guide for the crease of your eyelid. The muscle is then adhered to the skin of the eyelid to secure the crease. This method is best for patients who have thin and elastic eyelid skin and are uncomfortable with the traditional incision methods. It also offers a quick recovery and natural-looking results.

Scarless Partial Incision Method

This method makes use of 2-3mm small incisions to remove the fat and soft tissue within your eyelids. The muscles are then stitched together to open up the eyes and create the crease for the double eyelid. This method is perfect if you have thick eyelids with a lot of fat stored in them. This method ensures minimal scarring and offers quick recovery.

Slim Line Method

This Incision method makes an incision through the eyelid to remove the excess fat, muscle, and sagging skin. A dissolvable thread is then used to stitch up the muscle to create the crease. The size and depth of the double eyelid are then adjusted to the patient's desire, preventing long-lasting swelling and asymmetry. Scarring is minimized through the delicate stitching process once done with the procedure. This method is good if you have severely asymmetric and/or droopy eyelids.

Dual Incision Method

This special method doesn't require incisions, instead, 5~7 micro points are made on the eyelids. Threads are then passed through the conjunctiva through these micro points repeatedly, knotting them to create a natural crease line. This gives little scarring on the eyelids while still giving a defined double eyelid crease. This method is recommended for patients with thin eyelids or less saggy skin. This method also provides quick recovery, minimal scarring, and a natural look.

That's all for today! If you are ever considering double eyelid surgery, knowing what type suits you will definitely help you before doing the surgery. Until next time!

Regards,

NANA
