Korean Rhinoplasty trends from different eras

One of the first body parts that many people around the world think of improving is the nose. Just like fashion trends, there is also a trend for nose shapes that people want in different eras. Some people may ask for a straight nose or a slightly curved pixie nose depending on what is popular at the time. Today, Nana Hospital will explain the different Korean trends of different eras for noses.

1. 90s: Straight Nose

Kim Heesun

In the 90s, people looked for refreshing facial features and a key point is that people wanted very defined noses. The straight nose forms a straight line directly from between the brows down to the nose tip. This look could be popular because makeup at the time tend to be very light, so people wanted their facial features to stand out more.

2. 2000s: Curved (Barbie) Nose

Jang Nara

The curved (barbie) nose focuses on the curved nose line on the side profile. For this kind of nose, the height of the nose tip is very important. In comparison, the nose bridge is rather low. This kind of nose gives people a feminine image and ascends naturally. Contrasting with a city-centric image from the 90s, this curved nose from the 2000s looks more friendly to others.

3. 2010s: Half-curved nose

Lee Hyori

Min Hyorin

It is not clear whether this nose is popular due to Lee Hyori's popularity, but it has been a very popular nose shape since the rise of her fame. This nose is different from the previous completely straight noses or the completely curved noses. It has some height in the bridge and naturally curves upwards.

4. 2020s: Straight half-curved nose

Shin Sekyung

Han Sohee

This nose line is neither straight nor curved. It is curved at the nose bridge but is mostly straight coming downwards. It doesn't come off to others as the result of rhinoplasty, but it looks rather natural. It looks fancy nonetheless.
