What is Endotine Forehead Lift?

Hi everyone! 💗

It's NANA and today I am back with another blog.

Have you heard of Endotine Forehead Lift? If you have aging forehead muscles and skin, drooping eyebrows, sagging eyelids, and frown lines, a forehead lift will be just for you. There are multiple ways to perform a forehead lift, when compared to the coronal technique, small-incision endoscopic forehead lift treatments (aka Endotine) are often preferred due to the lack of facial scarring, quicker wound healing, and less concerns with postoperative alopecia or sensory loss.

What is Endotine?

Endotine is a safe, bioabsorbable implant to fix skin tissue that has been FDA, KFDA approved. It has 5 tines for a secure fix of the forehead tissue, to securely hold your skin in just the right position. It is absorbed into the body naturally after about a year and it does not leave any residue behind. On the other hand, it has semi-permanent skin tightening effects. Not only using on foreheads, endotine implants are used in a variety of other facial procedures including browlifts, cheeklifts and necklifts too.

How is the surgery performed?

  1. The operation will be conducted under sedation anesthesia. Surgery lasts around 1.5~2 hours.
  2. Three / Five small incisions are made in the area of 1cm along the hairline.
  3. Endotine implants will be inserted through micro-incision.
  4. Detach skin and lift upwards, and fixate towards the implant.

Post-operative care?

  • Most swelling and bruises will go down after 1 week
  • Hospitalization not required but outpatient treatments are needed
  • Before stitches are removed, you cannot shampoo your incisional areas
  • Stitches will be removed on the 10th day after the operation (at NANA)
  • We recommended dyeing and perming hair after 1 month
  • At NANA, we offer a special after care program which includes a deswelling facial treatment, a vitamin IV for body circulation, and a Healite (high frequency care) for quick recovery.

When is it recommended?

Endotine forehead lift is most often done on people in their 40s to 60s, to slow the effect of aging and skin sagging. People with inherited conditions such as furrowed lines above the nose or a droopy eyebrow, we recommend endotine forehead lift too. This procedure is popular within younger people as well, since a forehead lift can raise low eyebrows that give the face a 'sad' look, whose brows are so low that their eyelids are heavy, or block part of their vision.
