Protruded Ears Surgery and Our Thai Patient's Experience!

 Hi everyone!

NANA is back today with another blog and another youtube video! Have you seen it yet? It brings us on a journey with one of our patients and her multiple surgeries, including protruded ear surgery!

Introducing to you, Maprang, an influencer from Thailand! Today she is with us for chin surgery, fat grafting, and protruding ears surgery. She has always felt that her ears were too big, and seemed like they were 'going to fly out'. Her plan for the surgery is to have them be flattened out and pushed back. She also was concerned about the asymmetry on her face caused by her chin so she will be adjusting her chin as well.

The doctor noted that Maprang's chin is a little lower on the left than the right. So he will reduce the right side a little to keep them as symmetrical as he possibly can. As for the protruding ears, there is a cartilage in the back of the ear, and it is common for the cartilage to fold inwards, however because Maprang doesn't have that fold, her cartilage is straight, causing her ear to look big and protruded. By tying the cartilage down to create that fold, she will be able to have her ears flattened up against her face.

After Surgery

Maprang felt like the most painful part was her ear as it hurts while she sleeps on her side. Her chin is also swollen and she could only move her jaw a little bit at a time. It was hard for her to open her mouth as well, however after 7 days she is able to talk properly as seen in the video.

She mentioned that she doesn't usually swell, however because of the surgery there was a little bit of swelling. So to get rid of the swelling, she took cantella asiatica extract capsules and drank pumpkin juice, both of which are known for their capabilities to reduce swelling. She also did Healite treatments here at NANA.

However even though it is still very swollen now, she is very satisfied with her face shape!

That is all for today! This protruding ear surgery seems to be very interesting, doesn't it? Until next time!

Regards,

NANA
