What is the reason of breast asymmetry?

And it becomes the standard of beauty in appearance.

We’d say symmetrical breast shape is the most ideal shape, thou most people have bigger left side than right because of heart placement is on left.

Generally, most people don’t have obvious asymmetry that causes discomfort.

But there are quite many people visiting us because of breast asymmetry concerns, let me explain the reason and how to solve it.

 

What is definition of breast asymmetry?

People have different standard with feeling breast asymmetry. But from plastic surgeon’s perspective of view, there is a standard to decide breast asymmetry;

-are the nipples height same?

-is cleavage placed in the middle?

-are the under breast line placements same?

With standard above, we get to decide breast asymmetry.

To be more accurate, we’d check shoulder, collar bone height and the tilt of the pelvis.

 

Can surgery make symmetrical shape?

We can make symmetrical result, immediately but seeing in long term there is large possibility of dissatisfaction.

There is a possibility that patient may feel unbalance due to musculoskeletal system or daily habit asymmetry as it will happen again.

In this case it’s right to plan surgery after posture correction or skeleton correction prior to breast correction with plastic surgery.

How can breast surgery improve breast asymmetry?

Patient can see improved effect, if only they have same height level of shoulder and colla bone without tilted pelvis.

Same height of nipple but different size of breast can be corrected with using different size of implant.

In case of different height of nipple and under breast line, not the size but using different type of breast can fix asymmetrical.

What if asymmetry happen suddenly?

There are some cases with some patients say they didn’t feel breast asymmetry but suddenly, their breast became asymmetry.

In this case, I’d recommend them to get breast check-up personally.

There was actual patient case who came to fix her breast asymmetry. Before surgery check-up, we found huge grown cyst caused breast asymmetry. After remove the cyst, asymmetry got fixed.

 

Like this there are some cases that breast cyst or tissue grown may cause asymmetry, so if breast asymmetry happens suddenly, please check your breast whether any issue with your health condition.

It is essential to find the reason first why breast asymmetry happen with different size and shape on both left and right side, prior to correcting asymmetry in any other case.
