Dr. Michael's Journey: Rhinoplasty at NANA Plastic Surgery Hospital

Ever wondered, where do doctors get rhinoplasty themselves?
Dr. Michael, an Australian doctor, decided to undergo Rhinoplasty in Korea (nose job surgery) at NANA Plastic Surgery Hospital. He faced the challenge of undergoing rhinoplasty after breaking his nose five times. This article explores the factors that led Michael to seek rhinoplasty in Korea and his experiences at NANA Hospital.

The decision to choose NANA Hospital

He said he did research very, very thoroughly regarding getting rhinoplasty in Korea and looked into every single detail. When he got the list of clinics, NANA Hospital was at the top and then there were two or three other clinics.

The reason that he preferred NANA Hospital was because NANA Hospital is well-regarded for its expertise in rhinoplasty and safe, transparent patient care. The smooth and transparent communication made him confident in his decision.

What made you trust Dr. Lee Seung Jae - what was your main impact on him?

The thing that stood out to Michael was Dr. Lee Seung Jae worked with people with cleft pallets which is a very complicated procedure and Dr.Lee did fantastic work in those cases. So he gave full trust in Dr. Lee because as per Dr. Michael's own experience as a doctor working with people with cleft pallets, he knew it was a very difficult thing to give them a very good aesthetic outcome as well as a functional outcome. Plus, positive reviews and testimonials from international patients influenced Michael's decision. Dr. Lee Seung Jeh also had great education background, many rhinoplasty before and after cases in Korea. The fact that Nana Hospital has its own anesthesiologists and ENT doctor to help rhinoplasty surgeon was also the reason why Dr. Michael made his decision.

Surgical Plan :

After CT scan at Nana Hospital, a customized plan was created to address both the aesthetic and functional issues of Michael's nose. The procedure lasted approximately 3 hours and 40 minutes. The surgery involved nose reconstruction using own rib cartilage, hump removal, and foreign body removal from the nose. Despite the complexities of his case, the surgery was done very successfully.

Recovery Period :

Timeline and progress

  • First Week: Removal of nasal splints, continued swelling, and bruising.
  • First Month: Significant reduction in swelling, noticeable improvements in appearance and breathing.
  • Three to Six Months: Gradual refinement of nasal shape and further reduction in swelling.

How long should I stay in Korea for rhinoplasty?

We recommend staying in Korea for at least 10 days. This covers the initial consultation, surgery, and early recovery period, including the first follow-up appointments and removal of stitches/splints

Michael shares: “Choosing NANA Hospital for my rhinoplasty was the best decision. The communication was smooth and transparent, and the care I received was exceptional. Given the complexity of my case with multiple fractures, I’m thrilled with the results. My nose looks great, and I can breathe so much better.”
